GPWC's 10th Anniversary
In 1999 Fr. O’Mara and Mr. Briggs
began the task of finding funding
for what is now the Grand Prairie
Wellness Center.
Through individual donations and
grants from several organizations
including the Daughters of Charity,
Knights of Columbus, and some
very generous members of
Immaculate Conception Church,
the Grand Prairie Wellness Center
became a reality.
Early in November 2011 the GPWC
celebrated its 10th anniversary
Many board members, employees
and volunteers, both present and
past, attended the celebration. We
were thrilled to have a visit from Fr.
Denny to see all the improvements.
The beginning of our 11th year
was November 6th.
In those 10 years we have
provided the community over $4.2
million dollars in medical, dental
and chiropractic services to over
34,600 patients both here at the
clinic and through referrals.
Most financial support is derived
from donations from private
individuals, corporations and public
sources including foundation and
Community Development Block
Grants (CDBG).

Our
Story . . .
Fr. Denny O’Mara (shown at left with
Tencha in 2011) was Pastor at Immaculate
Conception Church from August 15, 1992
to August 15, 2000. Fr. O’Mara and Bob
Briggs saw that the community had a great
need for medical services for uninsured
families and individuals who had no health
insurance.
